Vinegar is known for its powerful cleansing properties that fight stains, buildup, odors, and germs. However, it’s also known for its off-putting “vinegary” smell. Combining their popular No. 247 scent with 100% natural vinegar, this multipurpose product gets glassware to sparkle, and effectively tackles messes.
To clean and deodorize surfaces, glassware, and household items, wet a Lint-Free Cleaning Cloth or sponge with the Scented Vinegar.
Then wipe away dirt, stains, germs, and streaks. (This will also keep ants and bugs away.)
Remove cooking odors by simmering a small pot of ½ cup of Scented Vinegar and water. For site-specific smells, keep a small bowl of Scented Vinegar on the counter, in the refrigerator, or in the microwave to absorb odor.
If your washing machine is smelling not-so-fresh, a buildup of water, detergent, and dirt is likely causing mold and mildew growth.
To clean your machine, add ½ cup of Scented Vinegar mixed with 2 capfuls of All-Purpose Bleach Alternative to your machine dispenser and run an empty, long cycle with hot water. Don’t forget to clean out the fabric softener and bleach dispensers!
Caring for your Cashmere + Wool
Wondering how to clean wool? No worries. The Laundress is here to break down the do-s and don’t-s of washing wool and washing cashmere.
They have scientifically formulated a line of toxin-free laundry detergents that give you amazing results at home. Ditch the dry cleaners with the Wool & Cashmere Shampoo, Stain Solution, Wool & Cashmere Spray. Pretreat stains, wash, clean, and de-pill your favorite wool and cashmere items with these curated solutions from Gwen and Lindsey.
- Turn item inside out to wash the fabric where stains and odors buildup on the inside closest to your body and under arms.
- Prepare a “bath“ a wash basin of cool/tepid water with 2 capfuls of The Laundress Wool & Cashmere Shampoo.
- Submerge item(s) in bath using your hands to agitate the water and detergent.
- Soak for at least ½ hour.*
- Rinse well – running room temperature water until soapy water is gone.
- Do not wring; press the water out of the item instead.
* It is harmless to leave soaking for longer unless you are washing silk.
**DO NOT PANIC if you see color in the water. This is normal and it is simply the yarn dye releasing color. You will not notice any loss of color at the end.
- Change machine setting to woolens/delicate cycle. Make sure water temperature is cold. Add the appropriate amount of Wool & Cashmere Shampoo to the machine.
- Turn item inside out and place in a mesh bag and wash. Start cycle.
- Remove from the washer promptly to reduce creasing. Do not put in the dryer!
