Our “Life at Le Louvre” blog features are for us to connect with our favourite people, brands and lifestyle icons and share them with our ever-growing fashion audience. Beginning with Miss Wightman and then Georgina Weir we have always been proud to surround ourselves with smart, stylish, and clever people that make life more interesting.
Australian jewellery and accessories brand Lucy Folk combines kitsch naiveté with subtle beauty in her fun and quirky food inspired jewellery and accessories collections. Famed for her colourful personal style, Creative Director Lucy Folk stands out in any crowd decked out in jewels and often wearing a pair of fabulous Lucy Folk shades. A trained Goldsmith, Folk has combined her love of jewellery and especially all things gold, with food, art and travel, “preserving delicacies we adore into precious things we love to wear.” With a host of famous fans including it-girls Georgia May Jagger, Alexa Chung and Suki Waterhouse, and an expansion into eyewear and bags, Folk’s star continues to rise.
Out of my suitcase! I am constantly on the move, travelling all over the place.
I am lucky enough to have two home bases – the first in Melbourne (where I live when I am spending time with my design and production teams in my studio and where I satisfy the night owl inside of me!) and the second in North Bondi (where I live when I am spending time with my branding team, drinking golden turmeric lattes and huffing and puffing the Bondi to Bronte).
What do you do…
Between feeling absolutely nuts as I am never really in one place for very long… I design jewels and accessories to indulge my extreme obsession with all things GOLD!!!
Your favourite piece from your current collection…
I’ve just finished designing and shooting my AW17 collection which is called Naturalist. I have designed a heavy Euro inspired gold chain called the Mediterranean Necklace which I adore! It will look suit any heavy metal enthusiast or someone who likes things on the solid side. Its serious!
From my current collection (Shapeshifter) I have been sporting the Shapeshifter crochet earrings – they come in all sorts of colour ways and are light and fun. I enjoy mixing fine and fashion jewels depending on my mood and outfit.
What is your most memorable accessories purchase?
A pair of Chanel Sunglasses that I bought in Singapore when I was still at school. They had partial lenses and were huge! I don’t know what I was thinking but I thought they were the coolest shades ever. Not sure whether it was a case of so wrong but right but hey I gave them a shot.
What can’t you live without…
Sunshine, the ocean and hot summer nights!
What comes to mind when you think of Le Louvre…
My Grandmother! She was uber stylish and decked out in all things fabulous from Le Louvre, some pieces I fondly admire and cherish to this day.
Le Lourve is an exclusive, intimate, salon style shopping destination. You are known by name and its always fun to play dress ups and walk away with something very special!
Stephen Jones or Borsalino?
Borsalino everyday, Stephen Jones for a party – I love a HAT!
Feathers or fur?
Fur – prefer fake where possible!
One piece of advice you always listen to…
Patience is a virtue!
Le Louvre is excited to play host to a Lucy Folk pop up later in the year.
